Comparative Approaches to Law and Policy

This seminar focuses on the ways in which law and policy influence one another, exploring questions related to judicial policymaking and constitutional design, the relationship between high courts and the other branches of government, how social movements impact both law and public policy, and the ways in which bureaucracies reshape law and policy. It draws on cases from around the world and considers both democratic and autocratic regimes.
