The course
This course does not seek to offer a systematic review of international security. Instead, it focuses on an eclectic set of debates that continues to motivate significant research in the field. Each of these debates will allow us to explore a different facet of international security. This is not intended to be a “how to” manual for the conduct of combat, nor an arena for endless political debate regarding the futility or brutality of war. Instead, this course focuses on developing theoretical and analytical approaches to the contemporary study of war and peace.
